EDWIN ROSTRON
Edwin Rostron has been making animated films for over 25 years. His work is rooted in drawing, but also encompasses painting, photography, collage and comics. He has exhibited in film festivals and galleries around the world, including at Ann Arbor Film Festival, GLAS, New Chitose Festival, Eyeworks, Pictoplasma, Punto y Raya, BFI, Cafe OTO and The Museum of the Moving Image (NYC) with solo retrospectives of his work at CRANC, Barcelona and BEEF, Bristol. He has collaborated with a range of musicians including Apartment House, Supreme Vagabond Craftsman, Atsuko Hitano and Dean Honer. A number of his films are distributed by Light Cone. Edwin was a Tutor on the Animation Programme at the Royal College of Art between 2016 - 2022, and has been a visiting artist at CalArts and Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. In 2013 he founded Edge of Frame, a platform for artists working in the field of experimental animation. Through Edge of Frame Edwin has published interviews with a broad range of experimental animators, and programmed screenings and talks at BFI Southbank, Barbican, Whitechapel Gallery, Close Up, Flatpack Festival and London International Animation Festival.
